| COURSE OUTLINE: This course introduces users to working within the Windows environment on which most software is now based. With a mainly 'Hands on' approach backed up with some essential background theory, this course will get you started and allow you to get the most out of the Windows Graphical User Interface. The duration of the course is 5-7 hours depending on the experience and requirements of the student. New users are advised to complete Using PCs. |

| COURSE CONTENT: Introducing Microsoft Windows. The Mouse and Keyboard commands. Working with Windows applications. Using multiple Windows. Copying and moving data. The Help System and how to make it work for you. Understanding dialogue boxes, interpreting messages. |

| COURSE OUTLINE: This course covers many aspects of Windows that are beyond the basic level and provides the learner with the fundamental skills needed to use many other Windows-based applications. The duration of the course is 6-7 hours depending on the experience and requirements of the student. |

| PRE-REQUISITES: Basic keyboard skills. PC and Windows experience. New Windows users are advised to undertake the Windows Foundation course. |

| COURSE CONTENT: Using My Computer, Explorer. Folders, files and working with disks. Copying, deleting and searching for files. Inserting objects using OLE. Paint, WordPad, Address Book, Calculator other accessories. Using Non-Windows applications. DOS prompt from Windows. Copying from DOS to Windows. Windows set-up. Print Manager, installing a printer. The Windows clipboard. Changing colours, desktop wallpaper and screen saver. Other Control Panel options. |
